My name is Meg and I am a journalism student at Sheridan College. This blog is basically my new outlet to the world and I to share their love of fashion.
I personally follow certain things like the MTV show's The City and The Aftershow for fashion ideas. Other things that give me my clothing style are magazines like Teen Vogue, Cosmopolitan (yes, the pictures they have in there are actually great sources even though it is mainly a women's sex mag!) and Marie Claire are some great ones that have helped develop my extensive wardrobe.
It may be very cliche, but Manhattan, New York is currently my favourite place as far as its influence in fashion and just looking at the different styles walking throughout the city.
Although New York is one of my favourite places, don't think I have a ton of money to spend on clothing. Sometimes I do spend my last few dollars on a must-have item instead of using that money for gas to get around, but most of the time I window shop or screen shop to get ideas for future shopping trips when I occasionally have the money to splurge.
I'm not a huge trend follower because vintage fashion finds are always fun to strut, but some trends I do actually like.
Some of my favourites at the moment are a cute leather jacket that most girls are wearing on top of dresses to make it look a little more fierce than too dressy. Also, I'm amped to buy a pair of ankle boot heels even though I know they have been out for a little while, but as far as I'm concerned they're still going strong!
Those are some solid items that I am looking to put into my wardrobe as far as following trends, but other than that I love putting really "out there" pieces into my closet just to mix it up and not look so ordinary because, really, what fun is that?
If I'm ever asked about fashion designers clothes, I would have to say I only love some of them. I could never afford them, but I love Marc Jacobs. He would have to be my top pick since he's never ordinary.
If anyone knows some designers that are out of the ordinary that I can't think of right now, let me know! I want to know some of your favourties too!
Remember, life's a catwalk,
Meg
